Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday claimed that the BJP is getting 95 per cent of the total electoral donations and donors are not donating to other parties due to fear. Gehlot said this while addressing a press conference in Surat as part of the Congress' campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in Gujarat. During this, Ashok Gehlot also accused the BJP of 'threatening' industrialists and corporate houses who want to donate to Congress and other political parties. Gehlot also attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its national convener Arvind Kejriwal, saying they spend money to suppress any negative news against them. CM Gehlot further said that, if donations are made to other parties, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax Department reach the door of the donors. He said that even in our country, donations have been captured by only one party. He has accumulated crores of rupees, which he uses to build five-star party offices across the country. Gehlot said that after the introduction of electoral bonds, 95 per cent of the total donation is going to the BJP. Donors are not giving donations to other parties out of fear. The BJP has presented a model in which the money raised through donations is being used to topple the state governments as they did in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
