Earlier, Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut had said that this is not our demand, it is our natural claim and right. These posts should be given to the Shiv Sena. While the Bharatiya(BJP) wanted to appoint a member of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) as deputy speaker, BJD is not willing to accept the post as it wants to maintain a close relationship with both the BJP and the Congress.

In addition, the YSR Congress was also offered the post of deputy speaker, but it put a condition. The YSR Congress has said that unless the Central Government gives special status to Andhra Pradesh, we will not accept the post of Deputy Speaker. The opposition often has the right to the post of deputy speaker, but the tradition was changed last time on behalf of the Modi government.
