BJP leader and former Andhra minister Manikyala Rao died after suffering from coronavirus. He was 60 years old. Manikyala Rao belonged to the West Godavari district and contested elections from there along with winning the 2014 elections for the first time as an MLA for the BJP party. He was the Revenue Minister in the then TDP government. He continued as a minister from 2014 to 2018. Manikyala Rao has been getting treatment at a hospital in Vijayawada for a month due to corona.
