Former PA captain Inzamam-ul-Haq suffers heart attack

Islamabad: Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq suffered a heart attack on Monday (September 27). After which he was rushed to the hospital. Doctors have performed angioplasty after this heart attack. Local media reported that Inzamam had suffered a minor heart attack. He was then admitted to a Lahore hospital where doctors performed angioplasty and improved his heart artery and is now out of danger.

Prayers are being offered for his early recovery across Pakistan.  Meanwhile, the entire international cricket world is also praying for Inzamam's speedy recovery. Noted cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle tweeted late at night praying for Inzi's early recovery. In his tweet, he wrote, 'I wish Inzamam-ul-Haq a speedy recovery, get over it completely and to remain a part of the game for many years to come.'

According to the report, 51-year-old Inzamam suffered a heart attack on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. He had been complaining of chest pain for the past three days. Preliminary investigations did not confirm this and there was no concern then. Mentions that Inzamam-ul-Haq is the highest run-scorer for his country. In ODI cricket, he has scored 11,701 runs in 375 matches, while he is the third Pakistani batsman to score the most runs in Test cricket. He scored 8,829 runs in 119 matches in the longest format of cricket. The batsman retired from cricket in 2007.
