India's brilliant shooter Abhinav Bindra is a player who has brought glory to India at the international. While Abhinav missed out on medals by a narrow margin at the Rio Olympics, Abhinav still has a list of medals in his account. Abhinav is celebrating his birthday today. Born in Uttarakhand on this day, September 28, 1982, Abhinav has retired from shooting. 

Abhinav Bindra attended the Commonwealth Games at the age of 14 Abhinav Bindra had gone to Malaysia at the age of 14 for the first time. Abhinav was also the youngest contestant from India at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

The first gold medal at the age of 20 - Abhinav Bindra won his first gold medal at the Olympics at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. He had this international success at the age of 20.
 
The medal tally for Abhinav started in 2002. After which his medal streak continued to grow. He also won gold medals at the 2006 Melbourne, Delhi in 2010 and Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014. He had won a gold medal in the 10m air rifle (pair). Abhinav has won a gold medal at the World Championships 2006.

History created in 2008: Abhinav is the first Indian to win a gold medal in a single-level game of the Olympics 10m rifle event. He won the title at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.  For the first time in the 116-year history of the Olympics, an Indian won a gold medal in an individual event.
