Former UP minister, former MP, and senior Samajwadi Party leader Ramamurthy Verma have passed away. He had been battling the disease for a long time. Verma was 71 years old. It has been learned that Verma was a Minister of State twice in the Samajwadi Party government in UP and thrice from Jalalabad and once a member of the Legislative Assembly from Dadraul region and twice from Shahjahanpur Lok Sabha constituency. According to Mili Janaki, Samajwadi Party President and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav expressed grief on the death of Verma on Friday. Yadav expressed condolences through his tweet. It has been learned that in the tweet, describing the death of Verma as very tragic, SP President Yadav gave information about the death of the founder member of his party and said "God bless the departed soul. Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. A passionate tribute. '' Shahjahanpur District President Tanvir Khan of Samajwadi Party told "PTI-Bhasha" over the phone that Ramamurthy Singh Verma was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi on 3 March. After which, when he was discharged from there, the family admitted him to a private hospital in Bareilly on 21 April where he died during treatment on Thursday night. He said "Both Verma's kidneys were damaged and he was on regular dialysis. It may be recalled that Ram Murti Singh Verma was accused of burning a journalist to death in Shahjahanpur in 2015 in which the former minister was booked for murder at Khutar police station.
