Gadkari launches 3 NH projects worth Rs. 2,900 cr in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi: In a significant development, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, laid the foundation stone for three national highway projects in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways announced that these projects encompass a combined length of 87 kilometers, with a total cost of Rs. 2,900 crore.

According to the ministry, the first project is the Naidupate-Turpu Kanupur Section of NH-71, stretching over 35 km and requiring an investment of Rs. 1,399 crore. The second undertaking is the Chillakuru cross-Krishnapatnam Port South Gate Section via Turpu Kanupur on NH-516W, covering a distance of 36 km and valued at Rs. 909 crore.

The third project, the Thamminapatnam-Narikellapalle Section, involves extending the dedicated port road from Eupuru to Krishnapatnam Port on NH-516W and NH-67. It spans 16 km and is valued at Rs. 610 crore.

Gadkari expressed that these endeavors aim to provide seamless and secure connectivity to Krishnapatnam Port, facilitating faster accessibility to national master plan nodes, industrial nodes, and SEZ at Nellore. Moreover, these projects will enhance the safety and convenience of devotees traveling to religious destinations, including the Shri Balaji Temple in Tirupati and the Shri Shiva Temple in Srikalahasti.

Highlighting the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, Gadkari reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring swift, seamless, and energy-efficient mobility across the entire nation.

He further emphasized that these projects will bolster tourism by establishing connections to popular attractions such as the Nelapatu Bird Sanctuary and SHAR at Sriharikota. Importantly, they are also expected to create a significant number of employment opportunities.
