Gaza Urgently Seeks Transfer of 6,000 Critically Injured, Appeals for Help

The Gaza government has made an urgent plea for assistance. They've announced that 6,000 critically injured individuals need immediate transport out of the region for medical care. This request comes amidst a severe humanitarian crisis caused by Israel's blockade and ongoing attacks.

The media office in Gaza revealed the alarming state of the health sector due to relentless Israeli attacks since October 7. They highlighted that 30 hospitals in the area are no longer functioning, with over 58,000 people injured as a result of these assaults.

Appealing to Egypt, Gaza authorities urged the urgent opening of the Rafah border crossing. They emphasized the necessity of transferring 6,000 critically injured individuals out of Gaza due to the overwhelming patient load and the inability of local hospitals to cope.

Reportedly, only 10 to 20 wounded individuals are permitted to be transported per day, exacerbating the suffering of injured Palestinians as their numbers continue to rise.

Furthermore, Gaza officials called upon the international community, particularly the US, to exert pressure on Tel Aviv to halt what they referred to as a "genocidal war" against defenseless Palestinian civilians.

According to Gaza's Health Ministry, Israel targeted Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in an attempt to render it non-operational.

Since October 7 last year, Israel has been carrying out air and ground attacks on Gaza following an incursion by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas. These attacks have resulted in the death of at least 22,800 Palestinians and injuries to more than 58,400 others.

Additionally, it's estimated that nearly 1,200 Israelis lost their lives during the Hamas attack.

The relentless Israeli onslaught has left Gaza devastated, with 60% of its infrastructure damaged or destroyed. Nearly 2 million residents have been displaced, facing critical shortages of food, clean water, and essential medicines.
