The low cost domestic carrier, INDIGO is starting a new flight from Kochi to Indore and vice versa from 5 December on a daily basis. Notably, it is with the combined efforts of Jose Travels and Indore Keraleeya Samajam (IKS) that Indigo Airlines has agreed to operate an Airbus 320 aircraft between Kochi to Indore, with a stopover at Chennai. Chairman of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) Mr. T K Jose said that IndiGo Airlines has announced its first flight from Indore city to Kerala from Tuesday, January 5. The flight will be operated from Indore to Kochi, for which the airline has deployed 180-seater Airbus-320. Ticket booking for the flight has also commenced from January 2. He also said that with the starting of this flight, tourists visiting Kerala would be benefitted and connectivity to international flights is also available from Kochi. The First flight (6E-6194) will depart Kochi at 10.35 am on January 5 and reach Indore at 2.50 pm. There is a halt at Chennai for 40 minutes. Passengers will require only one ticket on the journey. On the return, the same day, the flight (6E-6195) will leave from Indore at 3.30 pm and reach Kochi at 7.45 pm. The starting fare from Indore to Kochi is shown as Rs.7550/- and from Kochi to Indore is Rs. 6600/- per passenger. This flight service is considered a boon for Indore Keralites, as they have been waiting for direct air-connectivity for a long time, especially in case of emergencies. So far, there was no direct flight from any city of Madhya Pradesh to Kerala.
