Instill the value of being a good human being: Message of Knit India 2020

The virtual Knit India that was inaugurated on 28th December was concluded on 31st December with the 350 odd participants resolving to become better human beings to build a civilization of love. Knit India is an annual get-together of students, teachers and principals schools from different parts of India, organized by the Universal Solidarity Movement (USM) Indore. Due to Covid 19 Knit India 2020 was organized online.

The chief guest of the concluding function, Rtn. Dr. Gajendra Singh Narang, District Governor RID 3040, in his address to the participants congratulated USM for knitting many students, teachers and principals in the adverse situation of the pandemic Covid 19. While sharing with the participants 7 tips to become a successful person, he specially emphasized “instilling the value of being a good human being”. 

The other tips he told the participants are: 1) Have a quality mentor, 2) To be healthy and to adopt an active lifestyle, 3) Build interpersonal relationships, 4) Set one’s goals that are clear, 5) Manage emotions, and 6) Imbibe the core values of honesty, integrity, respect for human dignity etc.

Ms. Sumita Shee, Head of the Training and Curriculum Department of Bharati Foundation, while sharing her experience of transformation in USM, told the participants that the USM touches the core of a person i.e. spirituality. She said, “The solution to all problems is self-transformation and belief in oneself. Then that person can become a leader and even a movement”.

Deepak Chudhari, an industrialist friend of USM from Gujarat, shared with the participants how he could overcome a great crisis in his business by practising the attitude of Ho Jayega, the mantra of Fr. Varghese Alengaden, the founder of USM.  At the concluding session a comprehensive but brief report of four days of Knit India 2020 was presented by Fr. Jacob Peenikaparambil. Mr. Srinivas Patnaik of St. Antony’s Convent School, Faridabad welcomed the guests and the participants. Mr. Ashiko P J, Director of USM, proposed vote of thanks, and the progamme was anchored by Esha George.

The dance put up by the students of St. Joseph School Buldana, MS and the group song presented by the students of Holy Angel’s Convent School, Muzafarnagar, UP, added colour to the concluding programme.
