After participating in one and half hour session on ‘Personality Development for Global Leadership’ 700 hundred high school students of St. Joseph Matric Higher Secondary School Coimbatore picked up the tips for leadership: develop and sustain personal vision, refuse to copy, ‘be your own brand’, dream big, make the best use of time, develop self-discipline and self-education, ‘compete with yourself and not with others’ and ‘you be the change’.

The webinar was organized on 5th December by the team of Universal Solidarity Movement (USM) Indore under the leadership of Fr. Varghese Alengaden who has the experience of animating young people for more than 30 years.

At the end of the webinar a good number of students while giving their feedback said that they got the inspiration to bring about transformation in them and they would practice the FIVE PATHS FOR SELF TRANSFORMATION promoted by USM. The five paths are 1) Pray daily for universal peace and forgiveness 2) Do a good deed every day without any selfish motive 3) Skip a meal a week to express solidarity with the poor and help the needy with the money saved 4) Respect every human being, and 5) Respect the earth and save its resources.

Father Varghese told the students, “Youth is not only the future of the nation but also the present. Hence you have to take charge now”. He also said that 55% of the population of India is below the age 25. If the youth takes the leadership, the future of India will be not only safe, but also glorious.

Sr. Lidia, the Principal of the school welcomed the resource person and the participants and Kavya, 11th class student proposed the vote of thanks. USM conducts webinars for the students, teachers and parents of various schools of India.
