Case filed against BJP councilor's for giving false information in election affidavit

Gorakhpur: A case has been registered against BJP councillor Chandrashekhar Singh in cantt police station for not mentioning the cases filed by himself in the affidavit during election in Gorakhpur city of UP. Several cases have been filed against Chandrashekhar Singh. As per the information received, BJP councillor Chandrashekhar Singh from Ward No. 34 Shahpur had given an affidavit at the time of enrolment in the urban body general election 2017.

It is alleged that the councillor did not mention the cases registered on him in the affidavit. On the compound, assistant district election officer Jag Narayan received the allegation of investigation. The search revealed that Chandrashekhar Singh had filed several cases in Shahpur police station. Which was informed by the Assistant district election officer to the higher authorities. On 26th August, the information was given in the Cantt police station to file a case with legal opinion on his order.

On the direction of SSP Jogendra Kumar on Friday night, the Cantt police has filed a case against Chandrashekhar Singh for giving false facts. Co Cantt Sumit Shukla said that the police has registered a case against the Assistant district election officer and started investigation. Assistant election officer Jag Narayan Maurya said that a compound was made in the Commission. After which the investigation was conducted, many cases could not be mentioned. On that basis, the case has been registered. The same is now being acted upon by the police.
