PM Modi speaks at Council of Ministers meeting: 'Government is working fast in corona war...'

The corona epidemic has created a huge hue and cry all over the world. The meeting was attended by ministers as well as prime ministers, principal secretaries, cabinet secretaries. As a result, it was pointed out that the present epidemic crisis is a major challenge for the entire world. At the same time, the approach of Team India of the Government of India to fight corona was highlighted on the basis of collective efforts of the Central, State Governments and the people of India.

Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said that all the weapons of the government are working together and fast to deal with the situation. He appealed to the Ministers to stay in touch with people from their respective places, assist them and get their feedback. He emphasized the need to ensure that issues are immediately identified and addressed at the local level.

Council also reviewed all the efforts made by the Central and State Governments and the people of India in the last 14 months. Efforts were made by the Central Government to deal with issues relating to coordination with the States, hospital beds, PSA oxygen facility, oxygen production, storage and transportation, availability of essential medicines. Measures being taken to increase their supply and availability were also indicated. The provision of foodgrains and assistance to vulnerable population as financial assistance to The Jan Dhan Account holders was also indicated.
