In The North Eastern State of Assam, tremors were once again felt on Friday. According to the National Centre for Sysmology, the magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter scale was 3.5 and the epicentre of the earthquake was Sonitpur. The tremors were felt at 4.49 pm. No loss of life or property has been reported from the earthquake so far.

More tremors have been felt in Assam in the last few days. In Sonitpur, six tremors were felt in a series of earthquakes late at night two days ago. After 12:00 p.m., the earth of Assam trembled six times due to the tremors between 2.38 pm. The intensity of these tremors on the Richter scale was very low.

However, even before 12 p.m., tremors were felt in Assam and some other north-eastern states one after the other on Wednesday, causing a lot of damage to the buildings and people coming out of their homes in panic. In addition, a total of 21 tremors were felt in the district and adjoining areas on both sides of brahmaputra in central Assam following a 6.4 magnitude earthquake at Tezpur at 7.51 am on Wednesday. No damage or casualties are reported to have occurred to any building due to these post-earthquake tremors.
