New Delhi: The central government has banned the export of wheat. On the one hand, there has been panic all over the world regarding the ban on the export of wheat by the central government. On the other hand, voices of protest have started emerging in our own country as well. 23 farmer organizations have opposed the ban on export of wheat. These farmers' organizations are demanding immediate removal of the ban imposed on wheat export. Farmers' organizations have announced a protest in Chandigarh from today i.e. May 17 on other demands including lifting the ban on wheat export. According to the information received by the farmers' organizations, a march will be taken out from Mohali to Chandigarh. Chandigarh March will start from Gurdwara Amb Sahib in Mohali at 11 am. Farmers' organizations have warned of indefinite strike-demonstration if compensation is not received to compensate for the damage caused by the drought. Farmer organizations are demanding compensation at the rate of Rs 500 per quintal. Earlier, farmers' organizations had demanded the government to lift the ban on export of wheat with immediate effect. It was said on behalf of the farmers' organizations that if the ban on export is not removed, then they will suffer. Farmer organizations had claimed that this would benefit the arhtiyas who had already bought their wheat. It was also said on behalf of the farmers' organizations that they are already facing drought.
