Between the lockdown and the corona transition, Industrial Development Minister Satish Mahana has said that the state government is considering several aspects to attract companies from China to Uttar Pradesh. In these, the focus is on five major pillars such as ease of doing business, cheap land, infrastructure, policy framework and investment facility. Reforms and restructuring are being planned in all these areas. Changes are being considered in the prevailing industrial policy to include new plants and machinery brought by companies moving from China. Industrial Development Minister Satish Mahana was participating in a webinar with Kotak Securities on Tuesday. He said that we are eager to attract both international and domestic companies and there is no discrimination between the two. Uttar Pradesh has identified 10 major focus sectors, including agro and food processing, electronics manufacturing, IT, dairy, tourism, MSME, renewable energy, civil aviation, handloom and textile and film. Apart from these, four Sunrise sectors have also been selected, which include Electrical Vehicles, Logistics and Warehousing. Industrial Development Minister Satish Mahana said that the key sectors with high potential have been mapped on the basis of UP's capability for companies that move from China. These include electronics manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and food processing, leather, glass, textiles, chemicals, basic metals, defence and aerospace. The Industrial Development Minister also informed about the labour reforms in the state. He said that almost all major reforms done in the country have already taken place in UP. Chief Minister's Economic Advisor KViraju, Industrial Development Commissioner Alok Tandon and Principal Secretary Industrial Development Alok Kumar were also involved in the discussion.
