Jammu: Diplomats from 16 countries, including US Ambassador Ken Juster, will visit Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday for a two-day visit. This is the first official visit of foreign diplomats after the removal of Article 370 granting special status from the state on 5 August 2019. On Wednesday, the officials said that these diplomats posted in the embassies in Delhi will first visit Srinagar on Thursday and will stay there overnight. After this, the next day will go to Jammu. It has been learned that during these diplomatic visits, Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu and members of civil society will meet. Apart from the US, the delegation will also include diplomats from Bangladesh, Vietnam, Norway, Maldives, South Korea, Morocco, Nigeria and other countries. EU diplomats to visit later: Sources say that diplomats from EU countries informed the government that they would visit this union territory on a different date. At the same time, diplomats from these countries have also insisted on meeting three former CMs Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, which the government is going to consider. The demand was made by foreign diplomats: It has been learned that on Thursday, January 9, 2020, the diplomats visiting the state will meet the members of the civil society and they will also be informed about the security situation of the state by various agencies. . Officials said that diplomats from several countries had requested the government to visit Kashmir. The visit is being done as part of the government's efforts to make foreign diplomats aware of the reality of Pakistan's propaganda on Kashmir.
