NEW DELHI: The 'Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2022' is expected to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. The Upper House is also expected to wrap up its deliberations on the Ministry of Railways' operations and begin deliberations on the Ministry of Labour and Employment's operations. The opposition is likely to bring up the issue of rising petrol prices. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda will propose that the Bill be taken into consideration to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950 to remove the 'Bhogta' community from the list of Scheduled Castes in relation to Jharkhand, and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950 to include certain communities in the lists of Scheduled Tribes in relation to the State. Munda will also make a motion to pass the bill. Union Minister Jitendra Singh will make a statement on the status of the 353rd report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests, and Climate Change on Action Taken by the Government on the recommendations/observations contained in its 343rd Report on Demands for Grants (2021-22) pertaining to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).
