The Lok Sabha was adjourned till mid-noon Wednesday. Meanwhile, Congress members of Parliament are protesting at the Gandhi statue in Parliament against the price hikes for LPG cylinder gas, gasoline, and diesel.

Following the uproar caused by the Opposition parties over rising cooking gas and fuel prices in the country, the Rajya Sabha was also adjourned at the same time on Wednesday. The Upper House was forced to adjourn for the second consecutive day due to similar protests. The House was also adjourned twice in the early half of Tuesday due to soaring fuel prices around the country.

Petrol, dieseal prices in India have been raised for the first time in four months. The price of diesel and petrol has been increased by 80 paise. The country's previous fuel price increase occurred in November. In Delhi, a litre of petrol will now cost Rs 96.21 and a litre of diesel will cost Rs 87.47.

The second half of Parliament's Budget session began on March 14 and will end on April 8. The first half of the Budget session began on January 31 and ended on February 11, with the second half beginning on January 31 and ending on February 11.
