Farmer Protest: Government can increase scope of MSP, discuss these issues in meeting

New Delhi: The Central government is engaged in finding a solution to the ongoing farmers' movement against agricultural law. The meeting lasted for about 7 hours between the farmers and the government. There is no result yet, but in view of the demands of the farmers, the Central government has given solid faith on some issues. The main concern of the farmers is about the minimum support price (MSP), on which the farmers have been trusted by the government.

If sources are to be believed, the government-farmers talks have indicated that the government will try to strengthen the MSP and can expand its scope. The government has assured that the MSP will continue, there will be a churn on how to increase it. In view of the demand of farmers, the government can expand the scope of MSP and include the produce like potato-onion. The main complaint of the farmers was that the complaint of the farmers with the private player should not be settled in the civil court, rather than the SDM. According to sources, the government can also consider this.

If sources are to be believed, the farmers' organizations also said that traders who get permission to do business in private mandis should also be registered. So far, only the PAN card has been said to be necessary, in which case the government can now consider this demand of farmers.
