NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that the Government of India will continue to focus on women's empowerment through various schemes, with a focus on dignity and opportunity. The Prime Minister said in a series of tweets on 'International Women's Day,' "On Women's Day, I salute our Nari Shakti and their accomplishments in diverse fields." Many efforts have been made to put our Nari Shakti at the forefront of India's development journey, from financial inclusion to social security, quality healthcare to housing, education to entrepreneurship. "These efforts will be stepped up even more in the coming months," he said. The Prime Minister also announced that in the evening, he will speak at a programme in Kutch honouring the contributions of women saints to our society. The programme is being organised to recognise women saints' roles in society and their contributions to women's empowerment. Over 500 women saints will gather in Dhordo, Kutch, for the Seminar. The seminar will cover topics such as culture, religion, female empowerment, security, social status, and the role of women in Indian culture. The welfare schemes of the federal and state governments that benefit women, as well as the achievements of women, will be discussed.
