Graft case: CBI arrests 6 including officials of Tata Projects, Power Grid

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday conducted searches at 11 locations in India, including Gurugram, and detained six people, including officials of  Tata Projects Limited and Power Grid Corporation in connection with a corruption investigation.

"We have detained B.S. Jha, the executive director of Power Grid, along with five other people. Additionally, cash worth Rs 93 lakh was found at his Gurugram home "the source stated. According to the source, Desh Raj and R.N. singh, who worked for Tata Projects Limited, were also detained in connection with the matter.

An FIR was lodged in respect of the matter in February.

Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim were included in the North System Improvements programme for the North East Region. The accused persons had obtained the project's tenders. As per allegations, a sizable sum of money was paid as a bribe to win the project.
