But on the way, they taught us the lessons of life that could make any ordinary student extraordinary. Varun Singh, who was ranked Group Captain in the Indian Air Force, was awarded the Shorya Chakra in August 2021. In September 2021, a month after receiving the shower cycle, Varun wrote to the school from where he completed his studies. In this letter Varun explained how ordinary a student he was and how he prepared himself for a great career and extraordinary life. In that letter, he taught 5 great lessons for students that can inspire us all to have a great career, a wonderful personality, and a lot of success in life. Read the highlights of his letter –

Letter from IAF Group Captain Varun Singh:- 'I was a very ordinary student. In Class 12 barely got first division marks. Although I was very disciplined, Bhai was very ordinary in sports and other co-currular activities. But I had a passion for airplanes and aviation. I went to nda (NDA), passed as officer cadet. But studying or playing could never do very well in anyone. Everything changed when I reached the Air Force Academy. I realized that my passion for aviation makes me a little better than the rest of the friends. Even then I lacked trust in my ability. There was a lack of confidence. Because I always thought I was meant to be ordinary. But after getting the Young Flight Lieutenant Commission in the Fighter Squadron, I thought I could do well if I put my heart and mind into this work. I started working on making myself my best. Contrary to the purpose of passing only as before. This was the time when everything started changing in my personal and professional life. Today I have reached difficult stages in my career.'

5 most important lessons for students:- 1- 'There is nothing wrong with being an ordinary student. It is not necessary for everyone in school to perform well. Nor does everyone get more than 90 percent marks. If you are able to do so, it is a great success and it should be appreciated. But if you can't give a better performance at school, it doesn't mean you're meant to be ordinary. You may be ordinary in school, but it can't determine what you'll get next in life.'

2- 'Listen to your inner voice. It's art, music, graphic design, literature... Anything can happen. But dedicate yourself to whatever you do. Give your best.'

3- 'Never go to sleep thinking that I can try a little more. 'I mean, give your 100 per cent per day in every small task towards your goal.

4- 'Don't think at all that the marks of the 12th Board Exam will decide what you can achieve in life. Trust yourself and work towards your dreams.'

5- 'Never give up hope. Never think that you will not be able to do well in what you want to be. It won't be easily achieved. It will take effort, effort has to be made. Time and rest have to be sacrificed.'
