GST collection at Rs 1.29 lakh cr in Dec: Finance Ministry

The GST revenue collected in December 2021 was above Rs 1.29 lakh crore, up 13 percent over the same month the previous year, according to the Finance Ministry.

Despite the fact that December's revenue was lower than the Rs 1.31 lakh crore collected in November, it was the sixth month in a row that revenue from products sold and services given above Rs 1 lakh crore.

The gross GST revenue collected in December 2021 was Rs 1,29,780 crore, with CGST at Rs 22,578 crore, SGST at Rs 28,658 crore, IGST at Rs 69,155 crore (including Rs 37,527 crore collected on imports of goods), and cess at Rs 9,389 crore (including Rs 614 crore collected on imports of goods), according to a statement from the Finance Ministry.

The December 2021 revenues are 13 percent higher than the GST collections in the same month last year (Rs 1.15 lakh crore) and 26 percent higher than December 2019. The average monthly gross GST collection for the current year's third quarter (October-December) was Rs 1.30 lakh crore, compared to Rs 1.10 lakh crore and Rs 1.15 lakh crore in the first and second quarters, respectively.
