Romania's veteran tennis player Simona Halep has made it to the last 16 of the Madrid Open tennis tournament by defeating Paula Badosa in straight sets. Two-time Madrid Open champion Halep has scored 21 'winners' and defeated second seed Badosa 6-3, 6-1. Halep has also won the title here in 2016 and 2017. This is the first time in the last nine years that Halep has not been able to get a preference here so far.
