Happy Birthday, M Jayachandran: 05 songs of the melody man you should tune into!

Popular musician and singer M Jayachandran ventured into movies in the early 1990s. Beginning his career as an assistant to veteran musician G Devarajan master, M Jayachandran slowly began to make his imprints in Malayalam cinema. ‘Chantha’ released in 1995 marked his first film as an independent music composer. As he is celebrating his birthday today, let’s take a look at some of the songs composed by M Jayachandran. 

Manikuyile The song is from the 2002 film ‘Valkkandi’. M Jayachandran gave his sweet introduction to the music lovers through the song ‘Manikuyile’.  the duet was crooned by KJ Yesudas and Sujatha Mohan.

Innale Ente This song embodies the memories and pain of losing father. The loss of a loved one and the void that it creates was magnificently presented by M Jayachandran. The legendary singer KJ Yesudas crooned the song.

Kannil Kannil Minnum ‘Kannil Kannil Minnum’ is from the film ‘Gaurisankaram’. The lyrics were penned by Gireesh Puthenchery and this song is crooned by P Jayachandran and KS Chithra. M Jayachandran also bagged the Kerala State Film award for best music director.

Rakkilithan ‘Perumazhakkalam’ is one of the best films delivered by Kamal. M Jayachandran composed all the songs in the film and he undoubtedly bagged the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director.  Rafeeq Ahamed penned the lyrics for this song and it was crooned by M Jayachandran and Ustad Faiyaz Khan. ‘Rakkilithan’ is undoubtedly one of the best compositions from M Jayachandran.

Kolakuzhal Vili Ketto ‘Kolakuzhal Vili Ketto’ is from the 2007 release film ‘Nivedyam’. The film also marks the last movie from Lohitadas and he himself penned the lyrics for this song. Shweta Mohan and Vijay Yesudas have lent their voice to this song.
