Kapil Dev, one of the all-time great all-rounders of world cricket turned 62 today. He was born on 6 January 1959 in Chandigarh. India won the first World Cup in 1983 at the Lord's ground under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. The Indian team created history by defeating the number one and strongest team West Indies in a very exciting match at that time. This victory changed the picture of Indian cricket. Kapil Dev became known to every child of the country. He was known for tremendous fitness, he played 131 Test matches in his career but during this time due to tremendous fitness, not a single match was missed.
