The holy festival of Hariyali Teej also comes in this month. On the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Sawan, women celebrate the festival of Hariyali Teej. On this day, women worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. It is said that worshipping Goddess Parvati is especially fruitful on this day. 

-On this day, you should donate makeup items such as sindoor, bracelet, bindi, anklet etc. to 11 to newly married women.

-Married women should make rice on this day and offer it to Mata Parvati. Later the couple should consume it together. Doing this will lead to a happy married life.

-On this day, do Abhishek of Goddess Parvati with saffron milk. It increases the love between husband and wife.

-During worship, women should offer vermilion, red bangles, mehndi etc. to Goddess Parvati.

-On this day, both the husband and wife should get up early in the morning and have a bath. After this, the couple should go to the Shiva-Parvati temple and offer red flowers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Why do you celebrate Hariyali Teej?

It is said that Goddess Parvati and Shiva were reunited on this day. There is also a  in which story in which it is told that on the day of Hariyali Teej, Shiva had told Parvati about her past lives. Parvati had pleased Shiva with austerity in her 108th birth and after that Shiva chose Parvati as his wife. The day when Shiva and Parvati reunited was the day of Teej.
