Harrison Ford Says Reuniting with Mosquito Coast Costar Helen Mirren...

LOS ANGELES:  After initially sharing the screen 36 years ago, Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are returning for the soon-to-be released drama series "1923."

The performers reconvene in "1923," the prequel to "Yellowstone," decades after Peter Weir's 1986 movie "The Mosquito Coast." Ford, 80, stated that his respect for Mirren, 77, hasn't changed since then at the Hollywood Legion Theater Post 43 series premiere, according to 'People' magazine.

Ford told many media sources, including "People," "I appreciate her work and her person (today), and I have all the same level of admiration for her as I did then.

Working with her again has been enjoyable for both professional and personal reasons because "she's wonderful, she's just a nice person," he continued.

Ford had already made two "Indiana Jones" movies and had starred in the first three "Star Wars" movies by the time 1986 rolled around. In contrast, Mirren claimed that at the time, she thought of herself as a "nobody" because it would take another 20 years for her to receive an Oscar for her role in "The Queen."

She recalled, "When we first collaborated, he was a tremendous movie star and I was practically nobody. "I was really, really intimidated," She uttered: "But because I hadn't done anything, I also picked up a lot from him. At that time, I had performed in a lot of plays but few films. So I studied him, and I learned a lot from him about film acting that I'm still applying today." The actors play Jacob and Cara Dutton in "1923," a couple managing a family farm in Montana while coping with the difficulties of the early 20th century, including pandemics, a historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression, according to "People."

Ford admitted to the media that the conception of the project ultimately hooked him on the part. He said that what drew him to the role was "the writing and the ambition of the piece, which is evident from the scope and scale of it." And the character, as well as the clarity of his words and dialogue. Ford was echoed by Mirren, who praised the writing of the series' creator Taylor Sheridan and referred to it as "amazing."

Being a part of something that is so exciting for the American entertainment industry while also delving into American history in this manner is fantastic, according to Mirren.

"You know, it's amazing to have that vast sprawl, and I was just thinking earlier that it's like a big Russian novel. You can't do it in two hours. It has the genuine sense of a vast arc of historical development, much like War and Peace. And it's incredibly exciting to play a part in it." she added.
