Haryana: Electic connection of three government schools disconnected for not paying bill

Kaithal: In Haryana's Kaithal district, the electricity department has cut the electricity connection of three state primary schools for non-payment of electricity bill. After the disconnection of the electricity connection, the water supply in the school has been stopped, due to which the students and staff are facing a lot of problems.

The school administration has given information in this regard to the high officials of the department, but even then, no attention is being paid to this. There are a total of 372 primary schools in the entire district, out of which about 150 have such schools, towards which the outstanding amount of electricity corporation is about 10 lakh rupees, but the education department is not paying electricity bills. Because of this, the corporation is forced to take this action. Among the schools whose connections have been cut, two other schools are located in Kaithal Block, including the Government Primary School at Chandana Gate.

Till the primary, 25 to 30 thousand students are getting education in these government schools. In the primary schools run by the government, in the summer time, the average bill is Rs 5 to 8 thousand per 2 months. The expenditure of electricity bill is given by the Education Department in the school budget itself. Because of which, in the absence of budget in many schools, the corporation does not pay the electricity bill spent in schools. In such a situation, the possibility of cutting the electricity connection in schools increases.
