Mamata said on Monday that efforts will be made to regularize refugee settlements built on private parties and central government land. He also said that the displaced people will also be given ownership of land by the state government. Mamta's statement has come at a time when Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be implemented across the country. The BJP has expressed its displeasure over Mamta's statement.
