Let me tell you that the news of changing the name of Babarpur was coming earlier too, but today when Manohar Lal Khattar went on a tour of Panipat district, it was officially announced. According to reports, the name could be changed due to Pramod Vij, MLA from Panipat city assembly constituency. To change the name of Babarpur, Vij had said in the Municipal Corporation House that since Guru Nanak Dev Ji came to Panipat, Babarpur should be named Nanakpur. After Vij's arguments, the House unanimously accepted the decision and the government also stamped the decision. Vij then thanked the Khattar government for listening to him.
