Health Minister Harsh Vardhan says this about Ayushman Bharat Scheme

On Thursday, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan said here that the Ayushman Bharat Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana will be further expanded. Meanwhile, officials said that under the scheme, around 2,300 patients have undergone treatment of Covid-19 in various hospitals for free, while over 3,000 people have been tested for infection in the last month and a half.

While talking to reporters, Vardhan said that Ayushman Bharat is the most ambitious scheme. 55 crore poor people will be able to get treatment up to five lakh rupees for free. There are more than one crore beneficiaries in this scheme. We will take this scheme to new heights. We will expand this plan further. On the occasion of the treatment of one crore people, Vardhan today inaugurated the first edition of the series Arogya Dhara, to discuss topical issues of public health.

According to the data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, 6088 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and 148 people have died. After this, the number of corona infects across the country has increased to 1,18,447. Out of which 66, 330 are active cases, 48,534 people have been cured or they have been discharged from hospital and 3,583 people have died.
