In another incident, a 38-year-old woman was swept away by a stream at Shahpur Tanda in Nagapattinam district on Wednesday evening. Anita, a farm worker from Shahpur Tanda, was returning home after completing her work on her farm land when the incident occurred, police said. Her husband and two children escaped in the incident. Later, the police pulled out the body and handed it over to the family members.
