Kochi: Heavy rain in all parts of Kerala since Saturday night brought the water level to the danger mark in many dams in the state while several roads were submerged by Sunday morning. The MET department said the heavy rain is expected to continue for the next two days, especially in the southern parts of the state. The same Idukki district administration said that according to the Tamil Nadu government, the water level in the Mullaperiyar dam has reached 140 feet on Sunday morning. As a result, people living on both sides of the Periyar river have been asked to be more vigilant. Because the gates of the dam can be opened when the water level rises in the next 24 hours.
