A helicopter with UAE-based Indian businessman, Lulu Group chairman MA Yusuf Ali, his wife and a few others onboard made an emergency landing in a field in Kochi on Sunday. The chopper crash-landed near Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies campus in Panangad. Mr Yusuf Ali and his wife are safe and have been shifted to a private hospital in Kochi for observation. "All of them are safe. They are currently under observation," said a top official of the hospital. The incident occurred at Panangad area at around 8.30 AM on Sunday. A major accident was averted as the chopper crash landed in a marshy land, locals said. According to an eyewitness statement, it says a major accident was averted as the pilots managed to make safe landing in a marshy land near the NH Bypass at Panangad. Besides the busy highway in the neighbourhood, the small plot of land with compound walls is surrounded by electric lines and buildings. The incident occurred as the helicopter was slated to land on the ground of the Fisheries College, Panangad.
