The troopers of Assam Rifle seized Heroin worth Rs 75 lakh. The incident is reported from Bethlehem Veng area of Aizawl in Mizoram. The troopers of Assam Rifle’s Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector recovered 189 grams of heroin. Joint team of Assam Rifles, 19 FIT, Excise & Narcotics Dept and YMA, Bethlehem carried out an operation on Sunday to seize the Heroin. The approximate cost of the heroin is estimated to be around Rs 75,60,000. The Excise and Narcotics department also arrested three persons, including two women in connection with the seizure. The Assam Rifles said, “Smuggling activities along the India-Myanmar Border have been a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram." Earlier on January The Assam Rifles prevented another attempt to smuggle drugs into Myanmar and recovered 101.3 grams of Heroin. The accused has also been apprehended. The approximate cost of the recovered heroin is Rs 40,52,000.
