Hezbollah has accused Israel of being "fully responsible" for a series of explosions in Lebanon that claimed the lives of at least nine people and injured 2,750 others, including a young girl. The incidents, which left over 200 people critically wounded, occurred as tensions in the region remain high.
Israel has not commented on the explosions, which took place less than a day after the Israeli government expanded its military objectives in Gaza. These objectives now include enabling the return of residents displaced by Hezbollah's attacks in northern Israel.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army reported intercepting a Hezbollah drone over the Tiberias region. The drone was shot down after warning systems alerted Israeli residents in northern Galilee and Tiberias of an incoming "hostile aircraft."
In a separate incident, the Israeli army announced that four of its soldiers were killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces had entered Rafah on May 6, intending to carry out a "limited" operation against Hamas fighters. Since then, much of the city has been destroyed, with little known about the remaining Palestinian civilians after over one million people were ordered to evacuate.
