Highlights of Modi addressing the Nation on October 20

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi addresses the nation during the ongoing pandemic. He assures once COVID-19 vaccine is launched, Indian Government will make it to reach every Indian, he asked people to follow strict guidelines. He said, "lockdown may have ended but the virus is still there". He says if a person goes out carelessly without mask they are putting themselves, children and the elderly at risk, dont act in a way that COVID-19 has ended and stay careful.

He further said we are seeing videos and photos were people are not wearing mask and they show people stopped taking precautions, but that is not right. He warned around the world we have witnessed so many countries recorded decline in cases but again increased suddenly. The festive season markets shows the bright colours, but the real fact is lockdown alone has ended but not the COVID-19, it still persists. He said, "It is festival time and a period of happiness but even small negligence can bring us grief". PM has said the COVID-19 fatality rate is 83 for one million population which is more than 600 in USA, Brazil and Spain. He list out India has a facility of more than 90 lakh beds, 12000 quarantine centres, and around 2000 coronavirus testing labs for COVID-19 patients. The number of tests will cross 10 crores soon, the more number of tests has been our strength.  

Covid-19 leaves long lasting impact on health

The Countries around the world are working for a vaccine and Indian Government is preparing itself to make vaccine reach every Indian as soon as launched.  he requested media persons to create awareness among the people. To gather support PM referred to 'Ramcharitmanas' (fire, enemy and illness should not be considered lightly unless we completely get rid of them) and referred to Saint poet Kabir Das, (precaution should be taken till we achieve success).
