Himachal Pradesh Assembly Gears Up for Budget Session: Set to Unfold from Feb 14 to 29

Shimla, February 14: The anticipation is palpable as the Himachal Pradesh assembly prepares to convene for its upcoming budget session, scheduled to kick off today, February 14th, and extend till the 29th of the month. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, in a notification released on Wednesday, officially announced the commencement of the assembly's crucial session.

The notification outlined the itinerary for the session, with the Governor's address slated to initiate proceedings. Following this, on February 15th, the spotlight will shift to the presentation of the Supplementary Budget First and Final Instalment for the fiscal year 2023-2024. All eyes will then turn to February 17th, the much-awaited day when the budget estimates for the upcoming fiscal year, 2024-25, will be unveiled.

In a bid to foster meaningful deliberations, discussions revolving around the budget are scheduled from February 18th to the 28th. Finally, the denouement of the session is earmarked for February 29th, with the budget slated for approval on this concluding day.

This session marks a pivotal moment for the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led state government, as it embarks on its second budgetary endeavor.
