HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has vehemently disagreed with a Parliamentary committee's recommendation that Hindi be used as the primary language of instruction at technical and non-technical higher educational institutions like the IITs. K T Rama Rao, the working president of the TRS, declared on Wednesday that his party opposes any attempt to impose Hindi. Hindi is one of the numerous official languages in India, according to him, and there is no official national language. Rama Rao tweeted, "We say no to Hindi imposition. To force Hindi by way of mandating in IIITs and central government recruitments, NDA administration is flouting the federal spirit Indians should have a choice of language. The Home Minister Amit Shah-led parliamentary committee has proposed that the native language of each region of India be used as the medium of teaching in technical and non-technical higher education institutions like IITs. It recommended making the usage of English optional. Among the more than 100 recommendations made by the committee in its most recent report are the elimination of the English language requirement for recruitment examination question papers and adequate provision for Hindi translation in orders of the high courts in Hindi-speaking regions. Professor K. Nageshwar, a former member of the Legislative Council, added that the action goes against federalism and racial harmony. "Amit Shah's team advises making Hindi the required language of instruction in IITs and using a Hindi-only test instead of an English one for central government hiring. Should Telugu speakers and those who speak other Indian languages not challenge the dominance of Hindi? Against federalism, unity throughout the country, and "Nageshwar Rao said.
