These companies announce to stop using single-use plastic

New Delhi: PM Modi announced a ban against single-use plastic on August 15. Subsequently, the government ministries and state governments announced to ban it. Now the industry is also joining this group. Various companies have recently announced to stop using or reduce the use of such plastics altogether. In the same sequence, ITC Hotels and Kitchenware brand Tupperware India, which are among the big hotels, have also announced a complete ban on the use of single-use plastic.

The ITC Hotel has announced to completely stop using such plastics by the end of this year. On the other hand, Tupperware has said that it will use recyclable packaging material in place of single-use plastic from October 1. Deepak Haqsar, chief executive of ITC Hotels and Welcome Hotel, issued a statement saying that ITC Hotels is known for using long-lasting goods.

He has said that the policy of the hotel has always been to adopt the use of environmentally friendly goods. Meanwhile, the kitchenware company Tupperware has issued a statement saying that the use of recyclable material instead of plastic will increase the company's expenses by up to seven percent. However, the company has said that its burden will not be passed on to customers.
