Rakshabandhan 2020: Keep these things in mind while tying Rakhi

The holy festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated every year on the full moon day of Sawan month. This sacred festival of Rakhi is to be celebrated on 3 August this time. People have started preparations at their respective levels. Here are preparations the sisters should do,  the 6 things they must keep on the plate of the Rakhi:

- Roli has a special place in the Hindu religion and aarti thali. So sisters should essentially keep Roli in their Rakhi Thali. In Hinduism, applying tilak on the forehead is very important.

- Kumkum or turmeric should be considered a symbol of good fortune and complete prosperity.

- It is mandatory to have  Akshat in Rakhi Thali. Akshat is applied after tilak. Akshat has special importance while worshipping god.

- It is said that no auspicious work is complete without lighting a lamp. The way we all perform the aarti of God by lighting a lamp, in the same way, sisters also perform the aarti of brothers on the day of Raksha Bandhan.

- There should also be sweets in your plate. The sisters offer brothers' sweet after tying the Raksha Sutra. Sweets come in handy on every auspicious occasion.

- It is also beneficial to keep yellow mustard seeds in a plate. Yellow mustard seeds protect brother from the evil.
