HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a demonstration over the detention of party MP Binoy Vishwam in Hyderabad on Thursday. The demonstration took place in Hyderabad's Himayatnagar Y Junction. "We are demonstrating against CPI leader Binoy Vishwam's unlawful detention. We will hold a big agitation if this continues. They are attempting to ruin everything since the Telangana government was created by utilising police power, filing fake charges, and imprisoning individuals. Telangana will not tolerate such behaviour. In Warangal, we have been requesting that the government provide patta land to the needy. We shall unite the needy and agitate in the coming days "CPI state secretary ET Narasimha said. The CPI leader alleged that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao did not keep his commitments to the people. "We want to make it clear to KCR that he cannot undermine the police force and operate in an undemocratic manner. We demand that the state government keep the promises it made. He pledged to provide impoverished people patta land, but he never did "he added. Binoy Vishwam, the CPI national secretary and a member of Parliament, was arrested in Hanumakonda on Wednesday while participating in a protest seeking housing for the underprivileged.
