ICICI wants 12 crores of bonus back from Chanda Kochhar, petition filed in High Court

New Delhi: Chanda Kochhar, who was caught in a case of irregularity in loan disbursement, is not taking the name of stopping. Now ICICI Bank has filed a recovery suit in the High Court to withdraw the bonus amount given to Chanda Kochhar. The bank wants to recover Rs 12 crore received by Chanda as bonus and other benefits. Chanda Kochhar has been expelled from the post of CEO and MD of the bank. Chanda Kochhar is facing investigation in the case of giving loan of Rs 3,250 crore against the rule to Videocon Group.

According to the news, the bank has filed this case in the High Court on Friday only last week. The bank has, through an affidavit, demanded that the petition filed by Chanda Kochhar last year be rejected. The next hearing of this case will be held on Monday, January 20. According to the bank, between April 2006 and March 2018, Chanda Kochhar was given these bonuses. Now the bank wants to withdraw the bonus under the clauseback, which provides that a company can withdraw the amount of incentive such as bonus in the event of an employee's wrongful conduct or loss of the company.

Chanda Kochhar has already filed a case in the High Court against the bank to terminate herself. During the hearing of this case, the lawyer of Chanda Kochhar came to know that the bank has filed a case for refund of bonus. Chanda says that while she had applied for early retirement, there was no justification for her removal.
