New Delhi: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Tuesday released data for the fourth Sero Survey. The survey was conducted between June-July. The study, conducted on 28,975 people, also included children between the ages of 6 and 17. Covid Antibody have been found in 67.6 percent of those surveyed, i.e., they were infected with corona. These 28,975 people included 2,892 children aged 6 to 9, 5,799 children aged 10 to 17 and 20,284 people aged over 18. Releasing the results of the Sero survey, Dr. Balram Bhargava, DG, ICMR, said that the survey revealed that covid antibodies have been found in two-thirds of the country's population and 400 million people are still at risk of corona. More than half of children between the ages of 6 and 17 who were surveyed also found to have antibodies. This means that infection in the second wave has also affected children. There were 12,607 people surveyed who did not get corona vaccine. There were 5,038 who had a single dose and 2,631 had both doses. The survey revealed that 89.80 percent of people who took both doses of the vaccine were found to have antibodies. On the other hand, 81 percent of those who took a dose found antibodies. However, only 62.3 percent of those who did not take the vaccine were found to have antibodies. Therefore, it can be assumed that antibodies are developing after taking the vaccine.
