NEW DELHI: The new jersey for India's special needs team for the Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC) T20 Champions Trophy 2022 was announced by the Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA). The Indian Deaf Cricket team, who will represent India in the championship trophy slated to be hosted in Sharjah, UAE from October 1–9, as well as the IDCA board attended the unveiling ceremony. CEO of the Indian Deaf Cricket Association Roma Balwani expressed her excitement for the forthcoming event, saying, "The DICC T20 Champions Trophy is a fantastic venue for encouraging sports among individuals with disabilities. And our group is thrilled to represent India in this global competition featuring Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. We are all prepared for the tournament and eager to see how well our squad performs on the field. We extend our gratitude to each and every sponsor, support partner, corporate, and CSR team who has placed their trust in us and ask them to continue showing their support for the players. Their encouragement will inspire our athletes to play to the best of their abilities." Sumit Jain, the president of the IDCA, spoke at the event and stated, "Our athletes are eager for the impending championship trophy and well-prepared. In order to compete for the renowned title, they are prepared to play their best game against their rivals. I hope they have success." In a letter to the Indian Deaf Cricket Team competing at the DICC T20 Champions Trophy in 2022 (UAE), former cricketer Yuvraj Singh wrote: "I'd like to send my warmest congratulations to the Indian Deaf Cricket Association's most inspiring players, board members, and office holders. It is really encouraging to see the amazing advances you are all making toward the expansion and development of the IDCA, which is giving bright players from all over the nation fantastic possibilities. My best wishes go out to the entire team for the forthcoming DICC T20 Champions Trophy in the United Arab Emirates in 2022. I am sure you all will do your best and make the country proud." In a letter addressed to the Indian Deaf Cricket Team, cricketer Shikhar Dhawan also expressed his best wishes. The letter read, "My very best wishes to Indian Deaf Cricket Association especially abled cricket team which will represent India in the forthcoming DICC T20 Champions Trophy 2022, UAE in October 2022."
