Fight if you want to contest elections, but don't use SKM- Yogendra Yadav

New Delhi: Jai Kisan Andolan founder Yogendra Yadav has asked farmer leaders not to use the name of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) while contesting elections. Yogendra Yadav has told the farmer leaders that if they use the name of SKM in the elections, then it will lose the confidence of the people in the movement.

More than 40 farmers' organizations under the banner of SKM had been agitating on various borders of Delhi for the past one year against agricultural laws and with many other demands. According to the report, Yogendra Yadav has said, "Everyone has the right to contest elections, but our leaders should avoid using the name of SKM. If they do that, it will send a wrong message and people will lose faith in the movement.'

On the question of achievements made by the agitation, Yogendra Yadav said that the demands of the farmers have been cleared, there is no doubt that but more than 700 farmers died during this period, which is a huge loss. "We found unity and self-respect and made political parties realize our strength. This is the achievement of our movement. Yogendra Yadav also said that the farmer leader is scheduled to hold a meeting in Delhi on January 15. The meeting will discuss the steps taken by the Centre on the pending demands of the farmers.''
