IIT Madras Reports 100% Campus Placement in MBA and MS

The Department of Management Studies of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras witnessed all its 61 students, both MBA and MS  in Research domain, getting recruited through campus placement drive for the year 2021-22.  The average yearly salary was Rs. 16.66 lakh, and placement was done virtually. According to a press statement from the institute, the average cost to the company (CTC) has climbed by 30.35 percent.

Companies that have hired students include Amazon, CISCO, Deloitte, ICICI, and McKinsey. Up to 16 percent of students who had completed an internship received job offers from that employer.

Following the epidemic, employment in the consulting and analytics industries has increased. According to Institute officials, virtual placement increased process efficiency and allowed more businesses from different geographical locations to join.

The lucrative offers, according to department head M. Thenmozhi, were a reflection of the institute's high standard of students and programme offerings. In the future, she predicted, "we will expect more such industry engagement in various domains in the future,” she said.

26 companies took part in the placement drive, which got underway on December 1. Up to 14 companies were hiring for the first time. The faculty coordinator (Placement) R.K. Amit said the recruiters were overwhelmed by the quality of the programme and the student's skill set.
