New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SMCD) bulldozers arrived to remove illegal encroachments at Shaheen Bagh in the national capital, but locals, especially women, sat in front of the bulldozers. Here the women climbed on the bulldozers, so many people lay down in front of them. After this, at around 12.30 pm, the MCD bulldozers had to return without removing the encroachments. As was the case in the Jahangirpuri case, the petition against the MCD's action has reached the Supreme Court and it may also come up for hearing today. After the attack on the procession of Hindus in Jahangirpuri, the action of removing encroachments was stayed by the Supreme Court within a few hours. During this time, people gathered together. The police force is also present at Shaheen Bagh. The SDMC's action could not even begin properly when the miscreants had gathered there. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan also reached there and started protesting against the action. Several Congress party leaders also took to the streets to protest the action. Amanatullah Khan says that he came here three days ago and explained to the people, after which he removed the illegal encroachments on his own. Amanatullah claimed that there was a Vajukhana outside the mosque, which has also been removed. He said that the road belongs to the PWD and there are local police, in such a situation, people will talk to the administration and they will also remove the remaining encroachments on their own. He described it as a political act and asked the police to talk to him. However, seeing the leaders' presence at the spot and a large number of people, the MCD decided to return and stopped the action without removing the encroachments.
